Five of the homes by Bennett-Sherman LLC at Othello Station have pre-sold and 10 are currently on the market with completion scheduled for later this summer.
Monday, June 4, 2005 SEATTLE — The public is invited to “Celebrate Summer at Othello Station” today and tomorrow with the opening of 21 four-bedroom homes at this front-porch master planned community. The popular Emerald City Jazz Ensemble will entertain today from noon to 3 p.m., and free hot dogs, hamburgers, and refreshments will be served. Individuals can also enter to win one of two Weber barbecue grills or a 20-gig iPod music player. The next day, “Second Look Sunday,” gives home buyers the opportunity to stop by to take another tour of the model home. “We’ve been open for sneak previews previews and the response has been tremendous,” says Darryl Smith, the Windermere listing agent for the neighborhood. “Everyone has been impressed with the quality and high level of finishes. Bennett-Sherman truly means it when they say they build ‘Living Architecture.’” Bennett-Sherman LLC is the partnership of two of the top names in Northwest homebuilding, representing more than 20 years building homes in the Puget Sound. Like all of the homes it builds, the homes at Othello Station are Built Green for energy efficiency and healthier living. Five of its homes at Othello Station have presold and 10 are currently on the market with completion scheduled for later this summer. Smith describes the homes as modern traditional: “The homes are reminiscent of classic Seattle architecture but are built for today with all the modern conveniences.”

Home buyers can choose from two “Living Architecture” floor plans, the Marion and the Ravenna. Both are three-level, fourbedroom homes with bonus rooms off the garage and inviting covered front porches. The Marion offers the option of a den or fifth bedroom on the main level, while the Ravenna features a special dining area. Interiors in both designs include ceramic tile entries, sleek bamboo hardwood flooring in living areas, polished ceramic tile countertops, natural maple cabinetry with a dark stain finish, and five-piece master baths. Both floor plans offer large basement bonus rooms, uncommon for new construction and very customizable by the purchasers. For a limited time, select lenders for the homes are offering extended loan locks so home buyers can take advantage of today’s low interest rates while their home is still under construction. The Windermere sales agent at Othello Station can provide for more information. One of the major appeals for home buyers in the neighborhood is the cultural richness of southeast Seattle. For the past 10 years, more and more people have been discovering the neighborhood’s vibrant lifestyle. Individuals from all walks of life call this neighborhood home, sharing ideas, celebrating milestones and building relationships. Othello Station is Seattle’s first new neighborhood in 50 years, Smith adds, and the final phase of the popular NewHolly redevelopment. The master planned community features frontporch homes on walkable locks neighborhood streets with an emphasis on parks, trails and playgrounds. The community includes a mix of homes for rent, homes for sale, public library and community center, along with neighborhood businesses and services.
